Obstacles are things that get in your way and block you from moving forward. What are the obstacles preventing you from achieving your goals and becoming the accomplishment you were meant to be?
Obstacles can be external circumstances (perhaps the time isn't right for you to go back to school or you don't have enough money saved to change careers) or internal attitudes and beliefs (""My teachers always said I wouldn't amount to anything"" ""I'm too old to begin over"" ""We tried that once and it didn't work"").
It's not what is getting in your way that's important-it's your ability to effectively manage these obstacles that will greatly increase your chances for success.
As a success coach, I help individuals become aware of the countless potential that already exist within and around them. An inherent included in the coaching savvy is a technique I call ""Exploring Brilliance Without Boundaries (EBB)."" Master this technique so you can leverage it to discover and release your own brilliance.
The process used to design the Gibraltar Bridge is an example of the EBB technique in action. The Gibraltar Bridge would be the longest bridge on Earth, spanning the nine-mile long Strait of Gibraltar and connecting the continents of Europe and Africa. as you can imagine, engineers were faced with many obstacles when designing a bridge of this magnitude.
Traditional bridge designs were not feasible. A classic suspension bridge, a design that supports the bulk and volume of the roadway with cables spanning from tower to tower, would sag and ultimately collapse. A cable-stay bridge in which wires are attached directly to the roadway would require unworkably high towers to support the length of the roadway.
United States architect Eugene Tsui came up with a revolutionary design unlike any existing bridge. His design features an original floating and submerging idea, while creating a three-mile-wide floating island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. From this newly created island people will be able to view both the European and African continents for the first time in human history.
When looking for a solution, Tsui said, ""I asked myself how nature would create a bridge to span the Strait of Gibraltar and this is the result. I have brought together a partnership with nature and discovered nature's power to design and problem solve far surpasses all the computers on Earth.""
Tsui remained committed to exploring solutions totally obvious traditional solutions. He focused on what could be done very than getting bogged down with what couldn't be done. His ability to take a step back and explore unthinkable, unconventional, innovative and great potential serves as a fantastic example of the EBB technique.
The key to applying EBB in your life is to ask yourself the EBB question* each time you encounter an obstacle. By remaining focused on what can be done and how, you continue moving ahead in the exploration process until you finally reach the brilliant concepts within.

As you expend too much time and energy dwelling on why something can't be done, you become stagnant you stop moving towards your goal. when you ask the EBB question, you begin focusing on what could be instead of what has been. You don't allow the limitations of previous accomplishments to restrict where you could go this time.
At first, you may find it difficult to think so creatively, freely and boundlessly. But by continuing to apply the EBB technique, you will find you are able to escape the limited thinking associated with what you already think and believe. You'll learn to freely imagine the possibilities that will turn ideas into solutions.
My colleague, e-commerce guru Randy Gage, tells an article that demonstrates the power of this technique. In his story, Randy explains that he knew WHAT he wanted-to earn a million dollars from his one-day seminar-but he didn't know how to make it happen. Randy consulted his web portal developer saying, ""Ford, I know we can't make a million dollars from a one-day seminar. But if we could, how would we do it?"" This question ignited a powerful brainstorming session. And guess what? Randy and Ford presented an awesome one-day seminar that not only grossed more than a million dollars, it made a lot of attendees happy and wealthy in the process.
